SCHOOL BUS DRIVER

JOB DESCRIPTION:

We are seeking a reliable and dedicated School Bus Driver to ensure the safe and timely transportation of students to and from school, extracurricular events, and other school-related activities. The ideal candidate will possess excellent driving skills, a strong sense of responsibility, and a passion for working with children.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Operate a school bus in a safe and efficient manner according to established routes and schedules.

- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the bus to ensure safety and compliance with regulations.

- Monitor the safety and behavior of students while they are on the bus.

- Assist students in boarding and disembarking as needed, ensuring their safety at all times.

- Maintain clear and professionally courteous communication with students, parents, and school officials.

- Report any incidents, accidents, or mechanical issues to the Transportation Director/Manager promptly.

- Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations governing the operation of a school bus.

- Attend regular training sessions and maintain required certifications as needed.

- Participate in ongoing safety training programs.

QUALIFICATIONS:

- Valid National driver's license with a clean driving record.

- Must possess a Valid Driver's License (VDL).

- Previous experience driving a bus or working with children is preferred.

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

- Ability to remain calm and composed in stressful situations.

- Must pass a background check and drug screening.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

- Must be able to sit for prolonged periods and navigate safely in varied weather conditions.

- Ability to handle emergency situations effectively with a focus on safety.
