Collective Hands Academy: Founded in September 2023, Collective Hands Academy Junior and Senior Secondary School has quickly established itself as a vibrant, transformative educational institution in the heart of The Gambia. Located at London Corner, Bambo (Opposite Sanchaba Garage) in Serrekunda, the academy was established to deliver high-quality, inclusive education and unlock the hidden potential of local youth.
Under the visionary leadership of its Proprietor, Mr. Sorie Fofanah—a prominent Gambian educator and philanthropist—and Acting Principal Mr. Mbemba Gibba, the academy operates on the philosophy that knowledge should be freely shared to uplift the community.
Outstanding Results & Achievements (2023–2026) Despite its relatively short history, Collective Hands Academy has achieved remarkable milestones that have earned it the local reputation of being a "beacon of education": Academic Excellence in STEM: The academy has distinguished itself through innovative teaching methodologies, particularly in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM). Led by Mr. Fofanah and Mr. Gibba, the faculty specializes in breaking down complex concepts in Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology, significantly improving student comprehension and passing rates.
Advancements in Digital Literacy:
Recognizing the demands of the modern workforce, the school established a fully functional computer lab headed by Mr. Christopher Ballu. This initiative has integrated coding, critical thinking, and digital research into the daily curriculum, ensuring students build essential 21st-century skills. The Pan-African School Cycling Initiative (2026):
Leveraging Mr. Fofanah’s role as the co-founder of the Tour De Gambia Organization, Collective Hands Academy made history on February 27, 2026. The school served as a key Gambian partner in the inaugural Pan-African Cycling for Schools Day. Organized in collaboration with the Ubuntu Cycling Foundation, this milestone project virtually and culturally linked students from Serrekunda with peers at the Tubafashe Academy in Rwanda, fostering cross-continental solidarity, gender inclusion, and community engagement. Through holistic student development, modern academic facilities, and unique international collaborations, Collective Hands Academy continues to shape the next generation of Gambian leaders.
