Cypress-Fairbanks ISD welcomes new students and families to the district. The following outlines the official procedures for registering students for the 2025–2026 school year.

Registration Overview

All students new to CFISD must complete the district’s online registration process. This process ensures the proper placement of students and helps CFISD prepare for each academic year.

Step 1: Gather Required Documents

To complete registration, families must provide the following:

• Certified birth certificate (issued by the Bureau of Vital Statistics)
• Current immunization records (or a notarized exemption)
• Parent or legal guardian’s government-issued photo ID
• Proof of residency dated within the past 30 days:
  
• Line A: Mortgage statement, closing documents, HCAD statement, or current lease agreement
• Line B: Utility bill (gas, water, or electricity)
• Student’s Social Security card (if available)
• Report card or transcript from the student’s most recent school

Note: If the student lives with a non-parent or is under court-appointed guardianship, additional documentation is required:

• Completed Authorization Agreement for Non-Parent
• Proof of residency and photo ID for both the parent and supervisory adult

Step 2: Complete Online Registration

Families must complete registration through the CFISD PowerSchool Enrollment portal:

• Visit www.cfisd.net/CFISDregister
• Create a PowerSchool Enrollment account
• Upload all required documentation
• Complete and submit all required fields (indicated with a red asterisk)

The registration form may be saved and completed at a later time if needed. One PowerSchool account can be used to register multiple students in the same household.

Step 3: Pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten Registration

CFISD offers a separate track for Pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten registration:

• Children must be five years old on or before September 1 to enroll in Kindergarten
• Pre-K enrollment is limited to students who meet eligibility guidelines or participate in tuition-based programs

Step 4: Submit and Follow Up

After submitting the online forms:

• Review your confirmation email from PowerSchool
• Ensure emergency contacts listed are individuals other than the parents or guardians
• Contact your child’s zoned campus to complete any required in-person steps
