Create and manage online courses, categories, enrolments, and course revenue.
Creating a new course
Menu: Online Learning, then Create Course.
The form is in five steps: Overview, Objective, Pricing, Preview, and Finish. Use Next and Previous to move between them. Click Save on the step that has the Save button.
Overview
Class: The class this course belongs to. Required.
Course type: General, or SCORM if the course is a SCORM package. Required.
Title: The course name. Required.
Category: A category from Course Category. Required.
Level: Beginner, Intermediate, or Advanced. Required.
Language: The language of the lessons. Required.
Short description: One line students see in the course list. Required.
Full description: The longer description. Required. This box is a full editor.
Objective
The note on this step says the text here helps a student decide if the course is for them.
Requirements: What the student should already have. Add a line with the green plus button and remove a line with the red minus button. At least one line is required.
Course objectives: What the student will learn. Add and remove lines the same way. At least one line is required.
Pricing
Tick Is this a free course if students should not pay. Leave it unticked for a paid course, then enter the course price. The price cannot be below 0.
Tick the discount box if the course is on sale, then enter the discounted price. The page shows the discount as a percentage.
Preview
This is what a student can watch before they enrol.
Overview provider: HTML5, Vimeo, or YouTube. Required.
Overview URL: The address of the preview video. Required. Example: a YouTube watch link.
Course image: The cover picture. Use a square image, 600 by 600 pixels.
Meta keywords: Search words. Type a word, then press Enter or separate words with a comma. Required.
Meta description: The short text used in search results.
Click Save. Then open the course under Courses, mark it active, and use Edit to add the sections and lessons students will study.
