Managing CBT questions

Menu: CBT, then Manage CBT.

Page title: Online Exam.

Two tabs sit at the top: Active exams and Expired exams. The note on the page says a new exam is pending until you add questions and click Publish Exam.

Each row shows the exam name, class, section, subject, date, time, and a status of pending, published, or expired.

Add questions opens the question page for that exam.

Edit, or the exam title, opens the same settings as Create CBT so you can change them.

Duplicate copies the exam into another class. Choose the class, then the section and subject, and save.

Delete asks you to confirm, then removes the exam.

Publish Exam appears while the status is pending. Confirm it. After that, students can open the exam.

Stop exam appears while the exam is published. It takes the exam back off the student list.

Re-activate exam appears on an expired exam.

View result opens the scores. It shows the exam name, subject, total mark, and minimum percentage. If the end time has not passed, the page says the exam has not finished yet. Each student row shows the name, marks, and pass or fail. Retake exam lets that student sit it again and asks you to confirm. A student who did not submit is marked fail (absent). Print hides the retake buttons and prints the list.

Adding questions

On Manage questions, the header has Back, Print with answers, and Print without answers. The panel shows the exam title, date, class, time, section, passing percent, subject, and total marks.

Choose a question type: Single choice, Multiple choice, True or false, Fill in the blanks, or Single choice with diagram. Until you choose one, the page says to select the question type.

Single choice and multiple choice: Enter the mark, the question, and how many options. Use the check button to build the option boxes, mark the correct ones, then Save.

True or false: Enter the mark and the question, choose True or False, then Save.

Fill in the blanks: Put a ^ sign where the blank should be. Enter the mark and the question, use Preview to check it, type the correct words, then Save.

Single choice with diagram: Enter the mark, upload a jpg, jpeg, or png, write the question, set the number of options, then Save.

The question list shows the type, the question, and the mark. If it is empty, the page says no question has been added yet. Edit changes a question. Delete asks you to confirm.
