Creating class sections

Menu: Manage Academics, then Class Sections.

Page title: Add section.

A section splits one class into smaller groups. The note on the page explains the two common uses: a time of day, such as Morning, Afternoon, or Evening, or a group letter, such as Class A Section A and Class A Section B. Create the sections that match how your school is organised.

Name: The section name, such as A, B, Morning, or Gold. This is required.

Section nick name: An optional short name. You can leave this blank.

Class: The class this section belongs to. This is required. The class must already exist under Student Classes.

Teacher: The teacher in charge of this section. This is required.

Click Save. If the name, class, or teacher is missing, the page does not save.

View the list

Green class buttons sit above the table. Click a class to show only the sections in that class. Before you click a class, the table lists every section in the school.

Each row shows the section name, nick name, and teacher.

The blue edit button changes that section. The red delete button asks you to confirm, then removes it.

Upload many sections from Excel

1. Download the Excel template.

2. Fill in the section names and save the file.

3. Choose the file.

4. Choose the class these sections belong to.

5. Choose the teacher for this upload.

6. Click Upload and wait until it finishes.
